I have been keeping parrots since I was 11yrs old (1984). My family have kept birds from parrots to canaries to chickens for many years. I was given my first parrots, a pair of greys, by my mum on my 12th Christmas which I bred many babies from. I still have the cock bird from this pair at 24yrs old and he still tries to bite me on most opportunities.
I have bred different species of parrots but the bird which without doubt is my favourite is the MAJOR MITCHELL COCKATOO (Cacatua leadbeateri).
I have found as a breeder of Major Mitchell Cockatoos that they are a rewarding parrot to breed. With a little patience and good breeding stock from a good breeder you are half way there. They are a lovely aviary subject and a bonus to any collection.
